Spring weddings in the South have a magic all their own — and Kimmie and Austin’s day at the stunning KC Bison Ranch in North Georgia was no exception.
The morning started with rain, and for a moment, the dream of an outdoor ceremony and a golden hour session in the pasture felt uncertain. But Kimmie and Austin had buried their bottle of bourbon — a beloved Southern tradition said to ward off rain when a full, unopened bottle is placed upside down at the venue exactly one month before the wedding. And wouldn’t you know it, the clouds parted just as their guests began to arrive.
They said their vows outside, surrounded by the people who matter most, before slipping away to the pasture for couples portraits with the bison — a moment that felt as wild, warm, and wonderfully them as the rest of the day.
